Hard Drives

It is extremely important that hard drives are packaged correctly so they arrive at our facility without damage. Hard drives are heavy and have sharp metal corners, so its important that you wrap the drive in several inches of bubble wrap. Please tape the bubble wrap around the drive to secure it tightly. Put the drive into a sturdy box and add additional packing to prevent to bubble wrapped drive from moving inside the box. Do not pack your drive in just foam peanuts as the drive will still move around. We also recommend your drive is packed within an anti-static bag (ESD) for additional protection.

Packing iPhones, iPads and Other Devices

It’s important that you wrap the device in several inches of bubble wrap. We would also recommend protecting the screen from damage with material such as foam padding. Please tape the bubble wrap around the device to secure it tightly and place it in a sturdy box and add additional packing to prevent it from moving inside the box. Do not pack your device in just foam peanuts as it will still move around. We also recommend your device is packed within an anti-static bag (ESD) for additional protection.

Packing Multiple Drives (RAID and NAS)

The same techniques should be used to package multiple drives, ie, several layers of bubble wrap around EACH drive and an anti-static bag. It would also be helpful if you can mark the drives with the corresponding drive numbers as detailed on the drive trays or slots. Most multi-drive units will have numbers starting at 0, but if there are no numbers on the unit make a note of which drive came out of which slot and send us a picture.

USB Drives and SD/CF Cards

We would suggest packing your device in bubble wrap and ship it in a sturdy box. An anti-static bag would be recommended, especially if your device is damaged.
